Independence Stable

Summer Barn Days 2018

July 9-13

Independence Stable's Barn Days is an educational and fun-filled program for girls and boys ages 6 to 12 who have an interest in horses.  No previous horse experience is necessary, just a desire to learn all about horses.

Our beautiful and friendly lesson horses, under the close supervision of experienced adults, will help participants learn hands-on the basics of horse care such as grooming and handling a horse safely.

Participants will also enjoy learning many other aspects of horse management such as equine behavior, horse anatomy, types of tack, and veterinary care.  Other fun activities include arts and crafts and horse games.  Participants will be able to observe horses being trained for various styles of riding and driving.

One special feature of this program is a daily, individual riding lesson taught by an experienced Massachusetts licensed riding instructor on one of our kind and gentle lesson horses.  Lessons will be custom-tailored to each child's ability and comfort level.

Activities are geared toward all ability levels, and the small group size allows each child plenty of hands-on time.  The main goal of the program is to build each child's self-confidence and allow them to experience the joys of horses in a safe, supervised environment.

We encourage those interested to register as soon as possible, as space is limited.
